What do you expect? What i did was to create a scheduled task in the task scheduler built in windows. I followed this guide to do it. However, it is very important to set the priority of SpeedFan to 'High' in the processes tab of task manager because if another program uses 100% of your CPU, speedfan will stop responding and will not ramp up the speed of your fans as it should. I have just upgraded to windows 10 and previously on my old windows 7 installation, speed fan started at startup. I had a short cut to the program in my startup folder. I have looked in task manager and it is there started but its not actually working, i need to manually click the icon for it to work. I have three programs in C: Users xxxxx AppData Roaming Microsoft Windows Start Menu Programs Startup. Two of the programs start as expected but for some reason Speedfan does not. I see a number of entries in various forums about this, and a common suggestion is to use Task Scheduler.
